Back to our favourite venue, Twin Towns. For awhile there it was like Jimmy had a residency, he played there so often. But it had been a couple of years since we had last been here. Some things had changed, some things hadn’t.
People were queuing at the normal door only to be told it wasn’t going to be opened. After a bit of confusion the line moved upstairs to the top door. When doors finally opened there was a great rush down the stairs to the front of the stage. There is no support act at Twin Towns so it was not too long to wait for Jimmy to come on. It was great to be back down the front, with no barricade and Jimmy in your face again. He started off with new songs again and everyone was getting into them. How could you not, they are such awesome songs and quite catchy too. It was the same set list as the Muster but with a couple missing - Resurrection Shuffle and Still On Your Side. The band moved around the stage with Danny and Dario going as far wide as their leads would allow. Jimmy did too. The crowd love it when he moves across throwing smiles and waves in all directions, grabbing hands here and there. He is very popular here at Twin Towns, always has been.
The crowd were quite well behaved tonight, no dramas that I was aware of. Jimmy blew the place apart and everyone loved it.
The night finished off with a hard, fast, awesome version of Goodbye, with Jimmy winding the crowd up faster and faster. Loved it, that last burst is always brilliant, the best way to finish up, leave you hanging for more. Everyone left the stage to lots of cheering and screaming, which continued as Jackie stood on the edge of the stage and threw out his drumsticks.
Well another night was over. Twin Towns always puts on a good one; hopefully Jimmy will be back there soon.
Had an early flight back the next morning to get back for work, so we hit the club ready for an all-nighter. So much for that, the club shut early, damn it! Managed a couple of hours sleep before heading home!!
