November 18th 2011 .... GATEWAY LAKES, WODONGA - VIC

Had an early flight back to Albury, met friends for breakfast, checked into hotel, had a walk around the shops, some lunch and then headed to the venue across the border in Wodonga - GATEWAY LAKES
This was supposed to be a marquee gig but the marquee only holds 10,000 people. The gig was sold out at 12,000, the marquee was ditched. We all received an email a few weeks earlier to advise us of this. All was good; it was a beautiful, sunny day with no sign of the rain the weather bureau had been threatening us with.
The queues out the front were massive and the local radio station were there getting everyone revved up with interviews and getting the Chisel chant started.
Got our front row spot and we were happy. It was all the old gang along the front row, cool.
Dave Larkin and his band were added support tonight, on before You Am I. They weren’t too bad and it was great to see Tommy Boyce on guitar! (From The Casanova’s and ex guitarist from Jimmy’s band)
This was my most favourite gig of them all. 12,000 people all singing at the top of their voices and rocking along to all the old favourites and the new. There was no trouble here at all. With that many people you would expect something, but no, everyone was here to see Chisel and here for a good time. And that is exactly what they got. Jimmy sang like there was no tomorrow and Mossy played the same way. It was just brilliant, the band fed off the crowd, who were so into it too. It was also so good not to have to worry about seats and if you were allowed to stand or be made to sit again! General Admin shows like this are definitely the go, so much more atmosphere.
We gave out the iTunes cards afterwards and that was quite an experience, people everywhere! All happy, excited and rapt to be getting their lanyard, and for free. Haha was such a fun gig in Wodonga.
